Good morning Big Blue Nation! Yesterday was big for the Kentucky Wildcats football team as they landed four star brothers Keaton and Destin Wade out of Tennessee. Destin Wade is a four star athlete that will likely play defensive back for the Cats while his twin brother, Keaton, is a four star outside linebacker. Steve Clinkscale and Liam Coen were their lead recruiters.

Mark Stoops is expected to land another four star player today with Kiyaunta Goodwin. The 6-7, 300 pound offensive tackle is from my neck of the woods in Southern Indiana. The Cats are fighting off the likes of Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State for his services. Vince Marrow is the lead recruiter for Goodwin.

If Goodwin commits to UK, that will make five four star prospects for this class and it’s only April. The buzz has been growing that this could be Mark Stoops’ best class at Kentucky and I don’t see any reason to combat that claim.

Goodwin is the 54th player ranked in America and the seventh ranked offensive tackle according to 247. He will no doubt be one of the highest ranked recruits that Stoops has landed during his tenure at UK.

You can watch the young man announce his choice here at 6:00 PM this evening.

Quickies

Transfer portal big board | Cats Pause- There have been more names added to the list of players that John Calipari has reached out to. It’s dizzying and, for me, more difficult to follow than high school recruiting.

Big win for Kentucky baseball | Cats Illustrated- The Cats have been struggling in SEC play as of late but picked up a big 6-1 win in the series opener against #20 Georgia. You can watch them in Athens tonight at 7:00 PM on the SEC Network.

Five players not getting enough hype before the NFL Draft | SDS- Landon Young is on this list and I couldn’t agree more. His size and numbers at the combine are prototypical for an NFL tackle. Drake Jackson is mentioned as well.

Kentucky offered Goodwin before anybody else | Your Sports Edge- Kiyaunta Goodwin was in seventh grade when Mark Stoops offered him a scholarship. That loyalty will definitely count as Goodwin decides at 6:00 PM.

Rick Bozich dissects the Gavin Wimsatt recruitment | WDRB- The recruitment of four star dual threat quarterback Gavin Wimsatt was definitely atypical and it ended with a surprise commitment to Greg Schiano and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

James Akinjo in transfer portal | Wildcat Authority- Akinjo is a terrific point guard out of Arizona. He led the PAC 12 in assists, was seventh in scoring and fifth in three point percentage. He would be just what John Calipari needs at point guard. Watch this one closely.

Jeff Borzello ranks the transfers | ESPN +- Borzello wades through the portal weeds and comes up with the top 100 transfers on the market. The Cats have seventh ranked Oscar Tshiebwe and ninth ranked Kellan Grady in the fold already. Devin Askew is ranked as the 22nd best transfer.

Preseason top 25 and 1 shuffling | CBS- Gary Parrish is trying to keep up with commits and decommits from transfers in his rankings. Kentucky is holding steady at #16.

Julius Randle leads Knicks to best win streak in seven years | USA Today- Randle continues his breakout season in New York with 44 points last night as the New York Knicks win 117-109 over the Dallas Mavericks. He also had 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Reds powered by Joey Votto in series opener | Red Reporter- The Reds smashed the Cleveland Indians 10-3 in the opening game of the series. Joey Votto looked to be in classic form. The Reds are 8-5 and still sit atop the NL Central.

Defense Department confirm leaked UAP video is real | CNN- They didn’t clarify as to what exactly this “real” object exactly is, but the continued declassification of these videos is fascinating to watch. Will we get the real story in the coming months as to the origin of these objects? The latest pyramid shaped UAP is quite big and quite intriguing.

Thunder Over Louisville scaled back on eve of show | WDRB- The annual fireworks extravaganza was already scaled back compared to previous years and was scaled back yet again over fears of gathering crowds. There were going to be five separate launch stations positioned around the city for the Derby Kickoff event but last night that number was cut to three launch stations.
