For a coaching staff, it is never easy when you lose out on a big in-state recruitment.
Unfortunately that is what happened for the Kentucky Wildcats, as Gavin Wimsatt decided on Friday to announce his commitment to Greg Schiano and Rutgers.
Following the commitment, Vince Marrow sent a message to Big Blue Nation:
BBN you win some and you loose some I wish every player I recruited nothing but the best. This will be one of the best classes @UKCoachStoops will sign since we been here. Go Big Blue.

Even after missing out on Wimsatt, the Cats are in a very good position to land another string of commitments in the coming weeks. Currently, they are in strong position with Destin and Keaten Wade, who are announcing on April 16th.
The next day they could see a commitment from Kiyaunta Goodwin.
Follow that up with Ka’Marii Landers and Alex Afari on May 9th, and the Class of 2022 could be taking shape soon.
Kentucky also still remains in a good spot with Fredrick Douglass wideout Dane Key, and hopefully be able to keep another top in-state recruit at home.
There are currently five commits for Kentucky in the Class of 2022 featuring: Grant Bingham, Treyveon Longmire, Jeremiah Caldwell, Andre Stewart, and Jackson Smith.
