Based on projections from experts, the Florida State Seminoles seem to be heavy favorites for three-star 2022 offensive tackle Daughtry Richardson.

But in an interview with Zack Geoghegan of Kentucky Sports Radio, the Kentucky Wildcats appear to be very much in the mix.

Richardson recently released a top 10 that includes both Florida State and Kentucky in addition to West Virginia, Purdue, Missouri, South Carolina, Arizona State, Oregon, South Florida and Georgia Tech.

In his interview with KSR, Richardson discussed several of the schools on his list. Richardson, who lives in Miami but is from Tallahassee, said, “I’m from Tallahassee, so of course they’re going to recruit me the hardest. They want me back home. Coach [Alex] Atkins is a very good dude. He always kept it real from the start. He told me that he was going to take care of me and he did, he gave me an offer, he gave me a chance. He’s a man of his word.”

On Kentucky, Richardson went in-depth about his relationship with newly hired UK offensive line coach Eric Wolford who attempted to recruit him to South Carolina before moving to Lexington.

Currently, Richardson does not have a decision date yet. There have not yet been any Rival future casts made, but all seven of 247 sports’ crystal ball projections are for Florida State.
