The Kentucky Wildcats are on the verge of having another player taken in the first round as the NFL Draft is roughly a month away.
The chances of that happening only increased on Wednesday, as linebacker Jamin Davis was outstanding in every drill during Kentucky’s pro day.
When Davis initially declared for the draft, many believed he would be a 3rd to 5th round pick. However, he has seen his stock rise tremendously as he is now being projected as a mid-first round pick.
His performance Wednesday only helped his stock.
The fastest recent riser on @MelKiperESPN's board is Kentucky LB Jamin Davis.

At his Pro Day today he checked in a 6-4, 234 pounds with a 42" vertical and 4.41 40 time.
Could be the second LB off the board in the first round.
In the first drill, Davis cleared the sticks on the vertical jump and had to have them extend it. After the extension, Davis logged a 42-inch vertical. Only one player in the NFL Combined posted a higher vertical than Davis. He also posted an impressive broad jump of 11 feet.
Here is a video of his vertical jump:

Davis then went on for the 40-yard dash and he posted times that are usually expected on wide receivers.
His initial attempt came in as a 4.41, but his second attempt was even faster as he unofficially posted a 4.37 on that attempt, which would be the fastest of any linebacker at the combine.
In the bench press, Davis logged 21 reps.
Davis is almost certainly going to be a first-round pick after the numbers he put up in Kentucky’s pro day.
As for some of the other Cats hoping to hear their names called on draft night, they also posted some good numbers during the pro day.
Kelvin Joseph is also a potential first-round pick, and he logged a 35-inch vertical, a 10-foot, 8-inch broad jump, and an unofficial 4.34 40-yard dash.
Defensive lineman Quinton Bohanna posted a 29-inch vertical and has shed 15 pounds. Only two 300-pounders at the 2020 combine posted better verticals. On the broad jump, he posted at 8-foot 3-inches. His 40-yard dash time came in at 5.34 seconds.
Brandin Echols recorded a 11-foot, 4-inch broad jump which would have been 5th best as last year’s combine. On top of that, he also completed 13 bench reps which ties the number Lynn Bowden put up last year. On the 40, Echols posted a time of 4.34. On the vertical jump, he recorded a 42.5 inch vertical.
Landon Young was a player that needed to post good numbers in the pro day, and he did just that on the bench with 34 reps which should help him a lot. Young also logged a 9-foot broad jump and a 4.91 40-yard dash.
Officially, there were 19 teams that sent scouts to attend the Kentucky pro day. However, it is likely that almost all 32 teams were present and just not identified.
Overall, it was a very successful day for the Kentucky players, and I believe a lot of them saw their draft stock rise.
