4-star recruit Treyveon Longmire commits to Kentucky

The in-state star from Corbin decides to stay in the Commonwealth.

Kentucky Wildcats football is well underway with spring practice, and we have been hearing all the hype coming out of Lexington about how special next season could be.

Well, all of that hype seems to be translating to the recruiting trail, as it has helped land one of the staff’s top recruits in the class of 2022 today in Treyveon Longmire, who announced his commitment on KSR.

Longmire has chosen Kentucky over a final list that included Louisville, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Michigan.

Considered a four-star athlete out of Corbin, Longmire comes in at 6-2 and 175 pounds. He is considered the third-best player in the state, according to 247 Sports. He currently plays both ways for Corbin High School currently but projects to be a defensive back at the collegiate level.

Longmire joins a long list of Kentucky high school players to join the program since Mark Stoops has taken over the reigns in Lexington. Hopefully, Longmire will be the first of several other Kentucky kids to join this recruiting class, as Coach Stoops and his staff will also be looking to land commitments from in-state stars such as Gavin Wimsatt, Dane Key and Grant Bingham.

Longmire becomes the third commit in the class of 2022, as he is joined by Jeremiah Caldwell (Belleville, MI) and Andre Stewart (Snellville, GA).
