Former Kentucky Wildcats star Jamin Davis is moving up in the mock draft boards as the NFL Draft nears.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper just updated his mock draft, and it saw Davis rise nearly 20 spots as he is now projected to be the No. 17 overall pick going to the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Get to know this name, because Davis is a big-time riser,” Kiper said. “When I sat down recently to watch his 2020 tape, I loved what I saw. He has tremendous range. He is physical. He can play inside or outside. He can cover and has some ball skills, including picking off three passes last season. Davis is the total package, and he could slot in at middle linebacker for Jon Gruden’s Raiders team.”

ESPN’s Todd McShay doesn’t have Davis going that high, but he still has him going No. 32 overall to the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hard to go wrong landing there.

Last year, Davis was outstanding for Kentucky’s defense, as he recorded 102 tackles, four tackles for loss, three interceptions, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his breakout season.

The NFL Draft is scheduled to happen April 29th through May 1st, but it is looking like Davis won’t have to wait very long to hear his name called.
