Following their 71-63 win over Idaho State, the Kentucky Wildcats are advancing past to the second round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament.
Kentucky was led by superstar guard Rhyne Howard, as she put together an all-around performance of 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game-high 35 minutes.
As the heart and soul of the Wildcats, Howard was unfortunately snubbed from the All-American first team.
Per KSR: “I got a lot of thoughts about it, but we’re going to keep it cordial,” Howard said at the beginning of the week. “I definitely think it’s political. I am upset about it. I’m hurt about it.”
Though she’s clearly one of the most dominant and impactful players in the country, several voters obviously downplayed her success by electing her to the second team this year. Howard clearly took her snub personally, so good luck to every team that now stands in the way of Howard and her fellow Wildcats.
