The Cinderella run continues!
After a shocking upset of Ohio State of Friday, Oral Roberts University it not ready to go home just quite yet as they knock off the 7th-seeded Florida Gators in the Round of 32 tonight. They become just the SECOND 15-seed ever to make the Sweet 16.
Battling back from being down eleven points with about nine minutes left in the game the Golden Eagles stormed back to take the lead with 2:10 left and held on for the victory from there.
In the last two minutes, Oral Roberts clamped down the defense, as Florida didn't score another basket after Noah Locke hit a jumper with 2:30 left in the game.
Max Abmas, who was the leading scorer in the NCAA this season at 24.4 points per game, finished tonight with 26 points on 6/14 shooting from the field. He got a ton of help tonight from Kevin Obanor, who poured in 28 points on 9/16 shooting, including 4/7 from three.
For the Gators, this a tough loss after a very up-and-down season. In tonight's game, they shot 55.2% from the field and still found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Should be a huge testament to how the Golden Eagles put the clamps on in the final few minutes to pull this win out.
March Madness is back folks. Let’s soak it in because this is just the first weekend.
