The Kentucky Wildcats fall on the road to Ole Miss, 70-62 for their 15th loss of the season. It was a really boring game overall, and it was one where you just knew that Kentucky would not pull it out.
For the second straight game, Devin Askew struggled heavily going scoreless again. To add to his struggles, Askew finished -17 on the night.
There isn’t much to say at this point about the team as most losses are rinse and repeat, with Kentucky losing most of their games in the final four minutes of the game, just collapsing under late-game pressure.
After a three-game win streak that included a stomping of Tennessee in Knoxville, that momentum seems to be all but gone after two straight losses in very winnable games.
Kentucky gets South Carolina at home on Saturday for a tune-up before the SEC Tournament starts.
Here’s hoping for good results.

Devin Askew was minus-10 in 10 minutes.
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) March 3, 2021
John Calipari took him out and went with Davion Mintz at point guard for the last eight minutes of the half. UK outscored Ole Miss 17-11. Cats made their last five shots of the half.
Mintz goes out...Ole Miss goes on a 7-0 run

Ole Miss averages four made 3-pointers this season and shots 28.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Tonight against Kentucky: 8 of 13 from deep.
You're not going to believe this but Isaiah Jackson is in foul trouble.

What an exhausting season. Goodness.

Kentucky now with 4 players in double figures: Sarr 15, Brooks 14, Jackson 12 and Mintz 10. Toppin and Boston 3 each, Askew and Allen zero.

Feels like the dagger for Kentucky’s season

There are still UK fans saying “so and so needs to play more” or “this guy needs less minutes”. Have y’all watched this season? The answer is not on the roster. They’re a bad team. You have to be blind to think games would go any differently by one player playing more/less.

Of all the bad games and frustrating moments this may be the most down I've been on this Kentucky basketball team this season. Embarrassing performance so far tonight. 4:32 left to turn it around. Let's see what these guys are made of.
— Brandon Ramsey (@BRamseyKSR) March 3, 2021
Kentucky loses to an Ole Miss team that should never beat us....EVER!!! First time since 2011. Another record lost. I just can’t even comprehended this pathetic college basketball season for my team. I’m thankful to be changing dirty diapers.

I honestly never thought I'd see a Kentucky team this bad

This team isn’t good
I am going to root like hell for them next week but they aren’t good
It is what it is
One of the more deflating Kentucky Basketball games I can remember. It felt like it lasted four hours.

That was as brutal a loss as it gets.
— John Spalding (@seasonneverends) March 3, 2021
Entering the game, Ole Miss was 9th in the SEC in rebounding. Destroyed UK 42-28 on the glass. Ole Miss was dead last in the SEC in 3PFG% (28.5%) but made 8/13 from the arc.
