The Kentucky Wildcats’ season came to an end on Thursday after their 74-73 loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the SEC Tournament.
Kentucky finished the season with a 9-16 record and wraps up arguably the worst season in program history.
We were all frustrated with this season, including the players, but one thing that is certain is this team never quit fighting.
When they found themselves down 14 points at halftime on Thursday, it would have been so easy to just checkout and get through the 2nd half and go home.
However, these guys fought and clawed their way back into the game and had a shot at the buzzer to win it.
In the hours following the heartbreaking loss, several players took to social media to give their thoughts about the season.
Here is what they had to say:
Thank you to the Univ of Kentucky, Lexington, the state of Kentucky & BBN. I got to campus 19 months ago in search of a home & found that & more here. My only wish is that I could give as much to you as you have given to me. UK will always hold a special place in my heart

At least we know Devin Askew is coming back, and it sounds like Dontaie Allen is excited to return with him.
