Nothing against any Kentucky player to ever wear the uniform, but there’s just something about a kid from the bluegrass wearing Kentucky blue. For this season, that young player was Dontaie Allen. After sitting last year due to injury, he sprung on to the scene showcasing his ability to catch fire from behind the arc. After a stretch of less-productive games, Allen made a statement once again in Nashville against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He played 29 minutes (second most on the team) and led his squad with a game-high 23 points on 8-15 shooting (6-13 from deep).
Dontaie Allen sure does love playing against Mississippi State

Ironically, a little over two months ago, Allen put up the same amount of points in a narrow win over the Bulldogs in Starkville.
Dontaie Allen's message to Kentucky fans:
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) March 11, 2021
“I’d say to stay with us for the following seasons." You can say they weren't good enough, he says, "but this team fought EVERY single game. So I would just say to stay with us."
While things didn’t end up going Kentucky’s way on Thursday or for most of this season, one positive takeaway can be Allen’s attitude going forward.

The future of several Kentucky players remains unclear, but one thing is for certain: Dontaie Allen plans on sticking around and improving his game. That’s something all of Big Blue Nation can get behind.
