NCAA Basketball: SEC Conference Tournament-Mississippi State vs Kentucky Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats ended their season with a brutal 74-73 loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Thursday in the SEC Tournament.

Despite trailing by 14 at halftime, the Cats rallied back to have the ball down 74-73 with 7 seconds remaining.

John Calipari drew up and excellent play for Dontaie Allen that got him an open three-point attempt, but unfortunately, the shot didn’t fall. His magical game ended with 23 points on 8/15 shooting.

The nightmare season comes to a close with a 9-16 record and this is the first time Kentucky has missed the NCAA Tournament since 2013.

Although the BBN is incredibly disappointed with this season, Allen had an encouraging message for the fans following the loss, telling fans to stick with them.

“I’d say to stay with us for the following seasons.” You can say they weren’t good enough, he said, “This team fought every single game. So, I would just say to stay with us.”

There have been rumors Allen could consider transferring this offseason, but those comments certainly sound like a player who’s sticking around for the foreseeable future.

All of our attention now turns to who decides to come back next season and who is leaving, but hopefully, we see No. 11 back on the court in 2021-22 along with some of his current teammates. He really was a bright spot in what was a lost season.
