It what ended up being another tough loss for the Kentucky Wildcats, Davion Mintz will not let this loss or even this season break his spirit.
Following the Senior Day setback, he took to Twitter to share this thought:
Regardless of the outcome I cannot thank Big blue nation enough for the support and love I felt tonight & all season. Kentucky saved my life, helping me grow as a person & player, but most importantly letting me be the real me. For that, i’m forever thankful. Love always- 10— Davion Mintz (@deemintz1) February 28, 2021
Mintz has been the MVP this season and has become the go to guy with the team needs a bucket. One can argue they never saw that coming with his expected role coming into the season, but he has rose to the challenge. He has been tough as nails each and every game. Whether it is hitting one of those “dagger” shots John Calipari has been referring to or using his experience to help guide this young team in what has been a rocky season.
No matter what he comes out scratching and clawing to try and help this team take the next step.
With rumors flying around of his potential return to Lexington for another year of college basketball, it should get fans excited. On top of that, he also hasn’t swatted those rumors down.
Mintz has become the most important recruit this offseason for this staff. With the impact he has had on helping this team win games, the potential he could have on a team with experience is thought provoking.
The year has not been normal by any stretch of the imagination. Either way, it is awesome to see the impact that Kentucky and the Big Blue Nation have had on this young man’s life. Here is to hoping we get to see him lace it up for one more year at Kentucky.
