The Kentucky Wildcats lost yet another close one on Saturday, as the fell to the Florida Gators 71-67 on Senior Day.

John Calipari had previously said that they may add a non-conference game since their originally scheduled game with Texas A&M is not going to be made up.

However, after the loss, Calipari said that they will likely not add another game to the schedule and focus on their final two games against Ole Miss and South Carolina.

In fact, Calipari noted that they were planning on playing a “top-ranked team” on Thursday.

“Yes (we considered playing one). Probably not now,” Calipari said. “We had a top-ranked team that we had discussed playing on Thursday. And we had another team that we discussed playing Thursday.”

With the loss, the Cats now sit at 8-14 on the season and have no shot of getting an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. So, they will now finish the regular season and turn their attention to the SEC Tournament which they will have to win if they want to go dancing.

“You know what? Let us build some confidence,” Calipari said. “South Carolina, who we have to play on Saturday, just won by 30. Mississippi is obviously playing really well. We’re going to have our tough go of it with what we have. We’re going to have a road game, then a home game, then we go to our (SEC) Tournament.”

The Cats face off with the Ole Miss Rebels on Tuesday night and that game is set to start at 9:00 pm ET.
