Good morning to you, BBN.
The Kentucky Wildcats are looking for their third straight win and it’s not going to be easy to come by down in Knoxville as they are set to take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
The last time the two teams met in Lexington, the Cats kept the game close until the final five minutes of the game where Tennessee ran away with an eleven point win. Rick Barnes definitely has be a thorn in the side of Kentucky every since he arrived at UT.
Five ‘Cats were in double-digits on Wednesday at Vanderbilt and Jacob Toppin had his best game as a Wildcat. But there were still the same issues that we have seen all season as we all watched a seventeen point lead melt away.
Style points are out the window at this juncture of the season and wins are all that matter. A win against a ranked team on the road would be just what the team needs to continue to gain confidence.
Tweets of the Day
I was doing some pregame research on the Vols today and was expecting to see their outstanding freshman guards, Johnson and Springer, averaging around 35 points between them. Kinda shocked it was just 22. Those guys went for 50 against UK in the first matchup.

The Cats have their work cut out for them.
Interesting comment there from Chris Mack, who says there’s a struggle among “the powers that be” in determining who can play for Louisville tomorrow vs. UNC.

The Louisville Cardinals are in a tough spot after their fourth COVID pause and it doesn’t seem like Chris Mack knows who is going to available to play for the Cards today.
