As the 2020-21 season continues to be a lost one for the Kentucky Wildcats, the coaching staff has been hard at work on the recruiting trail to make sure this type of season doesn’t happen again anytime soon in Lexington.
Looking for elite talent, the Wildcats staff has reportedly begun to check in with 2023 five-star small forward Kwame Evans Jr., per a report from David Sisk of Cats Illustrated.

Evans is a consensus five-star recruit in the 2023 class. He ranks second overall in the Rivals Top 150 and second in 247 Sports’ 2023 rankings.
The 6-foot-8 forward is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and currently attends the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute.
His list of offers so far includes Maryland, Auburn, DePaul, Florida and George Washington but figures to include nearly every big-name school in the land, including Kentucky, given his five-star status.
While way too early to tell where UK stands with Evans and what their chances at landing him look like, it’s good to see Kentucky, not shying away from top-ranked talent despite their awful 2020-21 season and recent recruiting misses.
