We are going to have to wait a little bit longer before we see the baseball team take the field.
This morning on Twitter, the team broke the news that this week’s season-opening series will not be played due to COVID-19 issues.
Our season-opening series at North Carolina scheduled for this coming weekend has been canceled due to COVID-19 management protocols in our program.

COVID-19 protocols for baseball this season are similar to how they have been across the conference for most other sports. Coaches also voted before the season to expand the roster from 27 players to 30 in hopes to keep enough bodies available for weekend series in the case of positive cases within the program.
The schedule is set up to where seeing a full weekend set made up would be almost impossible. With timing of the SEC tournament and the end of the season being so close, one would assume this series will not be made up.
Currently, the home opener against Miami University is on as planned Tuesday, Feb 23rd. Tickets for that game and additional single games are now available on UKAthletics.com.
The first home series will be that weekend Feb. 26-28 against Milwaukee.
Here’s to hoping the players and staff within the program are all feeling well, and we get to see the team take the field against Miami!
