The Lady Kentucky Wildcats have had some issues closing out close games earlier in the year. On Thursday, they utilized a massive fourth quarter to keep the Lady Tennessee Vols out of reach and secure their upset victory by the score of 71-56.
Chasity Patterson owned the night with 21 points, but Jazmine Massengill was the player who sought out revenge with 11 points (including three 3’s). Despite a rough shooting night from Rhyne Howard, going just 4-13 for eight points, the Lady Wildcats utilized their chemistry as nine players scored at least three points in the win.
The No. 20 Lady Wildcats are now 14-5, with the No. 16 Lady Vols dropping a game to 12-4 on the season. It’s no question this was a statement game for Kentucky. They’ll round out their season with a road trip to Florida, back home against LSU, back-to-back road games at No. 1 South Carolina and No. 24 Georgia before their final regular season game at home vs. Ole Miss.
