Another year, another thrilling bowl victory for the No. 22 Kentucky Wildcats.
This time, it was the No. 15 Iowa Hawkeyes who Kentucky took down in the final minutes en route to a 20-17 victory. It’s the fourth straight bowl win for Kentucky, which is tied with Alabama among Power 5 programs. It also broke the school record for consecutive bowl wins.
Leading the way for Kentucky was star wideout Wan’Dale Robinson. Likely playing in his final collegiate game, Robinson erupted for 170 yards on 10 catches, including a 52-yarder in the final minutes that set up the game-winning touchdown run by Chris Rodriguez. The veteran running back accounted for both Kentucky touchdowns after his scoring reception in the first quarter.
This was also Kentucky’s 16th straight non-conference win, the longest streak in all of college football.
