Thursday Headlines: Robert Dillingham Edition

The 5-star point guard included Kentucky in his top 5

The top point guard in the Class of 2023 narrowed his list to 5 and Kentucky made the cut.

Robert Dillingham, who’s ranked #8 overall in the 247 Sports Composite rankings in the Class of 2023, cut his list to 5 and Kentucky made the cut along with Kansas, LSU, Memphis, and NC State.

Dillingham visited Kentucky in late October and picked up an offer shortly afterward, with a lot of momentum going in Kentucky’s favor since the offer.

Only two predictions are in for Dillingham on 247’s Crystal Ball, but both favor Kentucky. Travis Branham and Jerry Meyer both picked Kentucky for Dillingham back on Oct. 28.

And Travis Graf over at Rivals flipped his pick from Memphis to Kentucky.

The 6-foot-1 point guard from North Carolina recently transferred to the Kanye West-backed Donda Academy in California after playing last season for Combine Academy in North Carolina.

Dillingham was named the Charlotte Observer’s High School Basketball Player of the Year for the 2020-21 season, in which he averaged 21.2 points, 4.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game and led his team to a 29-3 record. He also shot 40.1 percent from three-point range and 87.5 percent on free throws.

A lot of momentum is trending toward Kentucky landing the top point guard in 2023, but a decision date has yet to be announced, so this recruitment isn’t over quite yet.
