Saturday Headlines: Blue-White Game Recap Edition

There was a lot to be excited about during Friday night’s scrimmage.

John Calipari Drew Brown - Sea of Blue

Good morning BBN. There’s not a football game to be excited about today but the basketball scrimmage that took place last night sure has people buzzing.

Oscar Tshiebwe and TyTy Washington stole the show last night in the annual Blue-White Game. Both newcomers, the former a transfer and the latter a freshman, had great performances and showcased why they were such coveted in the transfer market on the recruiting trail.

Tshiebwe has a motor and toughness that we have not seen in the post since Bam Adebayo. While Big O may not be as talented as Bam was/is, he rebounded and ran the floor with the same tenacity. He was a monster on the offensive glass and Kentucky didn’t have a player in the post that could check him. I doubt many teams in college basketball do.

TyTy Washington is going to be special. He scored at every level of the floor, showed the ability to be a great passer, defended well enough, and ran the team at point when he was asked to. He reminded me a lot of Brandon Knight.

Tweets of the Day

I’m not sure who, but somebody on Colorado Sate’s coaching staff needs to be fired.

He out-hustled every single big for Kentucky, and it wasn’t close.
