UK picked to win SEC; 4 Wildcats named to all-conference teams

Despite last season’s struggles, there’s still a lot of belief this UK team will bounce back with a vengeance.

As usual, the Kentucky Wildcats were well-represented in the preseason SEC media picks for the upcoming basketball season.

Kentucky was predicted to win the 2022 SEC regular-season championship, while four Wildcats were named to the All-SEC teams.

Junior point guard Sahvir Wheeler was the lone First-Team pick, while Kellan Grady, Oscar Tshiebwe and Keion Brooks Jr. were Second-Team selections.

Vanderbilt sophomore guard Scotty Pippen Jr. was picked to win the SEC Player of the Year award. Brooks, Grady and Wheeler also received votes.
