The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team will hold their Blue-White Scrimmage on Sunday, October 24th inside Memorial Coliseum, the school announced Wednesday.
The Wildcats, projected as a preseason top-25 team, return much of their production from the 2020-21 season, including consensus First Team All-American Rhyne Howard. Howard averaged 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and a team-high 91 assists. Kentucky’s third, fourth and fifth-leading scorers also return in Dre’una Edwards, Robyn Benton and Blair Green.
Point guard Jazmine Massengill, who missed the first half of the season due to NCAA transfer rules, finished second on the team in assists per game.
Overall, Kentucky returns 70% of its scoring, 3-pointers made and assists. They also return 63% of their rebounding and 58% of their steals.
Admission to the Blue-White scrimmage is free, and fans are required to use the Lexington Avenue entrance of Memorial Coliseum to gain entry. Only the Lexington Avenue side of Memorial Coliseum will be open for seating. Doors will open at 1 pm ET with team introductions starting at approx. 1:30 pm ET. The Blue-White scrimmage will follow official team introductions.
Regardless of vaccination status, all guests will be required to wear a mask while visiting Memorial Coliseum. Fans will not be required to show proof of vaccination to enter, but face coverings – covering the nose and mouth – are required for all fans as they watch the scrimmage from their seat and enter, exit and move around Memorial Coliseum. Children 2 and younger will not be required to wear a mask. If spectators are unable to wear masks, they are encouraged not to attend in person for the sake of their health and the health of others.
