Happy Saturday, Big Blue Nation, I hope you are all having a great weekend so far.
The Kentucky Wildcats are back in action today as they take their two game winning streak down to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators. Mike White’s team is 5-2 with losses coming to Florida State and Alabama.
Beating Florida will give the Cats their best win of the season and will give people a little more hope that they can indeed turn the season around and make the tournament at the end.
The last time UK was in the O-Dome, they erased an 18 point deficit to beat the Gators. The team looked primed for March until COVID shut it all down. Keion Brooks hit the game winning three and he will be making his debut today.
I don’t expect too much out Brooks today. He just started five-on-five workouts today. I do think his leadership will be valuable going forward.
I don’t expect the Cats to win today. I am trying to take this season one game at a time and not have too many expectations at this point. But winning today would be a great sign that Calipari has found something with his team and that maybe they can salvage the season.

Is it time for John Calipari to change his offense? | SDS- The debate about Cal’s offense picked up this week as it was called ‘archaic’. The same discussion was had about Mark Stoops’ offense this season and he had to make a change.
Jim Harbaugh staying at Michigan | Sporting News- While Texas and Auburn bit the bullet and fired their coaches, Michigan decided to give Jim Harbaugh an extension after a disaster of a season.
Wildcard weekend storylines | SI.com- It’s a big sports day as the NFL Playoffs begin along with a full slate of college basketball games.
Tommy Lasorda passes away | USA Today- The baseball Hall of Famer and former manager was the oldest living Hall of Famer before he passed away early on Friday.
I will be back on the air at around 7:00 PM or so to break down the game and take your calls! We will carry Calipari’s post game remarks and will have player sound as well.
