What a great start to the season it has been for Julius Randle.
The former Wildcat, who now plays for the New York Knicks, has had a strong start to the season leading the Knicks to an early 5-3 record.
Last night was more of the same, as the Knicks defeated the Jazz at home and were led by Randle who finished the game with 30 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists. He also finished the game with a +/- of 25, tied for best on the team.
That performance continues a recent trend for Randle, who nearly had a triple-double Monday night when he went for 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 9 assists in a win over Atlanta.
On the season, Randle is averaging 22 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists, which are all career highs for him. Granted, it’s through eight games so the sample sizes are different but the point remains.
Randle is also shooting the ball from deep at a better clip. He’s currently shooting 40.7 percent from three, significantly better than his career average of 30 percent.
Good to see Randle having success with the Knicks. If he continues at this rate, he’ll likely find himself as an All-Star this season.
