Davion Mintz sent fans home happy from Rupp Arena tonight as he nailed the game-winner for the Kentucky Wildcats.
With 57 seconds to go and the game tied 74-all, John Calipari and his staff drew up one of the better play calls we have seen all season, and the grad transfer delivered.
Check out the game-winning shot below, as well as Tom Leach’s call of the biggest shot of Mintz’s season thus far.

Beautifully executed across the board. Toppin sets the screen, and Askew delivers the ball perfectly as Mintz was able to stay in rhythm to get off the shot.
Mintz finished the night with 11 points on 3/8 shooting, 2/5 from three. He also added three rebounds and two assists with no turnovers. Not turning the ball over alone was a big plus, as Mintz had committed 2+ turnovers in five-straight games.
There have been several game-tying/winning shots this year that just haven’t fallen for the Cats. Thankfully, this one did to give the team their second win of the conference schedule.
