The Kentucky Wildcats gets a much needed victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores, 77-74.
It was another close game, much like last Saturday against Mississippi State. Dontaie Allen, while not dropping 23 points like previously, did have another solid game tonight and was able to spread the floor and hit his open threes when they were needed.
For BJ Boston, however, it was yet another game where the five-star struggled to get a basket. Boston once again found himself on the bench in crunch time when Kentucky needed a basket, instead going with Dontaie Allen, and rightly so. Olivier Sarr lead Kentucky with 24 points.
Davion Mintz hit a go-ahead three with around 45 seconds left to take the permanent lead.
After dropping six straight, the Wildcats have started 2-0 in SEC play, winning two close knit games. Nail-biter games might turn out to be a positive for this team later on down the stretch.

The fact that Kentucky was able to win that game despite being out rebounded by 13, having 6 fewer assists, making 5 less threes, and 4 less field goals is incredible.

WHEW!!!!!

There's a lot to like about Jacob Toppin as he gains more experience. He plays hard. You love having that type of kid in your program.

Just like the Louisville game, our Guards/Wings keep getting torched off the bounce

I'm still not sure Kentucky can pull this season out of the fire, but it's not hard to see some really solid pieces who *should* all be coming back and have a chance to turn into something together next year.

If we’re going to volume shoot then maybe less of these? pic.twitter.com/rtTMxNO4FY

Safe to say decisions/drives/shots like that one are why fans have been so hard on Cal regarding Boston.
— Braden Ramsey (@braden_ramsey) January 6, 2021
That one just wasn't good.
It could be 100 years from now and a bad Vanderbilt team will still come into Rupp and hit every bad shot imaginable

Brandon Boston Jr. failed to tell me this summer that the movie he's shooting about this season is a horror film.

Crunch time and BJ Boston is on the bench again, this time with John Calipari coaching.

Askew, Mintz, Allen, Toppin and Sarr are the five for Kentucky.

I don’t know about these calls on Sarr. Five fouls and I think 1 of them was an actual foul
