Kentucky softball picked to finish 5th in SEC

The Cats begin the season ranked 13th nationally but play in an SEC that’s once again one of, if not the best conference in the sport.

The No. 13 Kentucky Wildcats softball team has been picked to finish fifth in the SEC this coming season by league coaches in the annual preseason poll, it was announced Thursday.

The No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide, who are seemingly dominating every sport in the SEC right now, were picked to win the league. The Cats didn’t get any first-place votes, which shows you just how loaded this league is for a top-15 team to not get any votes to win its league.

Kentucky begins the 2021 season on Feb. 12 on the road at Samford for a three-game series against the Bulldogs in Homewood, Alabama. Go here for Kentucky’s full 2021 softball schedule.
