The excitement buzzing around Kentucky Wildcats football continues to grow with each passing day. Despite limping through portions of their difficult SEC schedule, UK turns the page to 2021 with high aspirations.
The return of several key players on both sides of the ball has fans already salivating for spring practice to get underway.
With some newly added personnel on offense, first-year offensive coordinator Liam Cohen will have options to build around.
A monster piece to next year’s offensive line will be senior Darian Kinnard. The 6-5, 345-pound star put the NFL on hold and decided to give it one more final ride in Lexington.
Kinnard has played right tackle but on Friday he put out tweet indicating that he’ll be sliding over to the left side of center for the 2021 season.

The move will replace former Wildcats left tackle Landon Young, who will be entering the NFL draft and pursuing his professional football dreams. The glory days of UK’s front will seemingly live to see another season. Depth in the trenches continues to be an anchor for this coaching staff.
Vince Marrow added his approval of the change as well when he responded to Kinnard’s tweet with, “no doubt beast.”
In addition, Kinnard was a preseason All-American selection by ESPN’s Chris Low.
With the return of Chris Rodriguez Jr., you have to like what the Cats will bring to the table from a rushing attack perspective next year. Adding the electric Wan’Dale Robinson should open things up even more.
Liam Cohen surely understands the value of a running game and he’ll be no stranger to what guys like Darian Kinnard bring up front. Most followers of Kentucky football are excited for a change of pace that will ideally keep the downhill attack alive.
Darian Kinnard can keep the big blue wall tradition alive while chasing another bowl victory for Mark Stoops and his teammates.
He’s locked and loaded for a big time SEC farewell tour.
