As one of the key pieces during Kentucky’s 10-win campaign in 2018, former Wildcat Mike Edwards now finds himself playing safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now on his way to Super Bowl 55. Edwards, who picked off Drew Brees last weekend en route to the NFC Championship game, got the start this Sunday at Green Bay and played a significant role in helping his team reach the super bowl.
Despite recording just one tackle on Sunday, the tape shows much of as Edwards was flying around the field and played well in coverage. He’ll now have the chance to continue his postseason success on the NFL’s biggest stage. Though he received elevated playing time on Sunday due to Antoine Winfield Jr. being out, Edwards has more than proved his value to a defense playing at a significantly high level. Now, the former Wildcat will get his chance to further showcase just how great he can be.
