It’s been a rough several days for the Kentucky Basketball program coming off that loss to Auburn, but the Wildcats will have a chance to get back into the win column in what is essentially a must-win game to keep the team’s NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
The Cats travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs, who started the season 7-0 with a cakewalk non-conference schedule, but have struggled in SEC play, losing four straight to start the conference slate before holding on to defeat Ole Miss on Saturday.
The Bulldogs have struggled defensively, especially in conference play. Teams are averaging 89 points per game against the Bulldogs in SEC play, with the lowest being 74 that Ole Miss scored on Saturday.
If Kentucky hopes to turn around their offense, it seems like tonight in Athens would be a prime opportunity to do so.
John Calipari has hinted at some lineup changes, which has been met with some skepticism from fans on if that will actually occur, but changes will need to occur as a loss would be a major blow for a Wildcats squad that needs to start racking up wins.
A win against the Bulldogs would move the Cats to 4-2 in SEC play, which would have them tied for third in the conference.
Hopefully the Cats can come out and make a statement, pick up a road win, and build some momentum going into this weekend’s matchup with LSU.
