IT'S HAPPENING!!— Kentucky Baseball (@UKBaseball) January 19, 2021
Our 2021 @SEC schedule is official and we open at home for the first time since 2012!
Non-conference schedule and fan attendance protocols will be announced at a later date.#WeAreUK pic.twitter.com/diMhnKFm4z
Conference play will once again be a grind. The schedule this season features 10 weekend series, with eight of those between preseason top 25 teams, highlighted by the top-ranked Florida Gators coming to town May 7-9. It will also be the first time the team starts conference play at home since the 2012 season.
This past season before the suspension of the season, Kentucky had a record of 11-6 and were headed into conference play boasting a six-game winning streak. The Cats will return most of their production from last seasons team including Perfect Game Preseason First-Team All-American T.J. Collett.
The Cats also are bringing in the 25th ranked recruiting class in the country this season. Ryan Hagenow, a right-handed pitcher from Knoxville, TN, is a consensus top 10 recruit in the class and will be a key piece in the rotation for the next several years he is in Lexington.
The rest of the non-conference schedule and protocols on fans will all be announced at a later date.
Here is the start to what will hopefully be another great season for the Cats under Nick Mingione.
Listen to what Coach Mingione had to say tonight as he spoke on BBN Tonight.
Can we skip to March 19th yet?
