Kentucky Wildcats football is certainly on another level since Mark Stoops arrive.
That is not only the case in the wins and losses columns and in recruiting rankings, but he has also clamped down on keeping most of the state’s top recruits in Kentucky. One of the biggest targets in 2022 is three-star athlete Treyveon Longmire out of Corbin, and he recently included the Wildcats in his newest list of potential suitors.
Longmire is ranked as the No. 5 player in the state of Kentucky for the 2022 class and the No. 25 athlete in the country, according to 247 Sports Composite. He has a host of offers and has narrowed down his list to eight schools this week: Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
The 6-2, 170-pound Longmire does have one 247 Sports Crystal Ball prediction for Kentucky, but it is still early in the process, and there is no reason to believe that a decision is coming soon. Longmire spoke to Catspause.com about his recruitment and what he thinks of some of his top choices.
“No. 1, we have a good connection and up there it’s family,” Longmire told Catspause. “They treat you like family. When I first went there I felt comfortable. They’re texting me daily, calling me, I’m talking to (Vince) Marrow about every week or two.”
Longmire says he wants to commit toward the end of his senior year, and he seems to be in contact with all eight of these schools regularly. He would be a great get and could still end up playing on either side of the ball. Stay tuned for all of the latest updates in Kentucky recruiting.
