NCAA Basketball: Alabama at Kentucky Arden Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Saturday Big Blue Nation. There’s a small coat of snow on the ground, depending on where you are, and the weekend is young. The NFL Playoffs continue today and tomorrow but before we can enjoy them, we have to watch the Kentucky Wildcats take on the Auburn Tigers.

I really want to believe that Kentucky can win today. But from what I’ve seen from this team over the course of the season tells me that John Calipari’s team just doesn’t have what it takes this season. That fact has become abundantly clear to me and many others.

After another tumultuous week surrounding something other than basketball, it is possible that the team rallies and wins today. But the style that Auburn plays and the talent that they have in Sharife Cooper makes them a terrible match-up for Kentucky. The Cats just don’t have the offensive firepower to keep up with the Tigers if they get rolling.

The Starting 5 | SDS- Sharife Cooper highlights the college basketball breakdown. He will be the best player on the floor today. Usually it’s Kentucky that has that guy but unfortunately they haven’t for the majority of the season.

NFL Playoff picks | CBS Sports- It’s going to be a fun weekend for the NFL and I cannot wait to enjoy the games. My picks are: Bills, Bucs, Chiefs and Rams.

KAT diagnosed with COVID-19 | ESPN- Not many people have suffered the amount of losses that Karl-Anthony Towns has due to COVID. The NBA superstar has lost seven family members, one of them his mother, to the disease and now he has contracted it himself.

Here is his statement and it’s heartbreaking:

“Prior to tonight’s game, I received yet another awful call that I tested positive for COVID,” Towns said in a statement shared on social media. “I will immediately isolate and follow every protocol. I pray every day that this nightmare of a virus will subside and I beg everyone to continue to take it seriously by taking all the necessary precautions. ...

“It breaks my heart that my family, and particularly my father and sister continue to suffer from the anxiety that comes along with this diagnosis as we know all too well what the end result could be. To my niece and nephew ... I promise you I will not end up in a box next to grandma and I will beat this.”

Prayers for KAT that he recovers quickly.

James Harden says he’s willing to give up shots to win | USA Today- He said he, along with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, are willing to sacrifice shot volume to win. I’ll believe that when I see it.

I’ll be back on ESPN 680 right after the game to breakdown the outcome. The shows have been fun despite the losses so tune in and enjoy!
