The Kentucky Wildcats entered Tuesday night on a three-game winning streak as they faced the Alabama Crimson Tide in a battle for sole possession of 1st place in the SEC.

Right from the start you could tell that Alabama was going to shoot a ton of threes, but the Cats were struggling to contest the shots.

The Tide jumped out to a quick 10-4 lead, but the Cats were able to cut it to 12-8 by the first media timeout.

With just over 10 minutes to play in the half, Devin Askew drilled a three to tie the game at 17.

However, down the final stretch of the half the Cats had one of their long scoring droughts that allowed Alabama to open a 33-22 lead.

The Cats were able to do some damage control in the final minutes and went into the locker room trailing 42-30.

Alabama picked up right where they left off to start the 2nd half as they pushed the lead to 48-32.

However, Kentucky found a bit of momentum as an and-one by Jacob Toppin cut the lead to 54-43 with just over 12 minutes to play.

Unfortunately, the Cats couldn’t build on the run as the Tide pushed the lead back to 61-45 at the under 8 media timeout.

The Cats would make some runs down the stretch, but the Tide answered them all as the Cats lose this one 85-65.
