Jaden Hardy and Skyy Clark trending away from Kentucky?

With much uncertainty about who will be apart of Kentucky’s two upcoming recruiting classes, two UK targets that were once seen as sure-fire locks to UK are now being projected to land somewhere other than Lexington.

Today, Corey Evans from Rivals changed his pick for Skyy Clark from the Kentucky Wildcats to the North Carolina Tar Heels. This comes after Clark had a Zoom meeting with Roy Williams and the Tar Heels staff. It could also mean that Kentucky’s pursuit of 2021 guard Hunter Sallis is picking up, and Sallis could very well end up in Lexington with current Kentucky pledge Nolan Hickman.

Also today, Corey Evans changed his pick for long-time UK prospect Jaden Hardy from Kentucky to the UCLA Bruins. Hardy and UK’s relationship has been on the rocks for a little bit, as the two sides haven’t been in touch as much as they were back towards the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.

A big reason for that is the buzz for Hardy heading to the G-League has been picking up steam, as they have been courting Hardy to join their developmental team out in California.

If Hardy were to end up somewhere besides Lexington, that would make Kentucky’s top-three 2021 prospects choosing another school by Kentucky. Kennedy Chandler ended up at Tennessee and Paolo Banchero shocked everyone and went to Duke.

Evans is probably one of the 2-3 best recruiting experts in the business, so him picking against Kentucky for these two recruits is significant news. Kentucky’s 2021 class is starting to look like a big question mark heading into the fall signing period.
