Kentucky reaches out to Keyonte George

New, comment

The Cats are starting to throw out a wider net in the class of 2022 and this five-star guard is the most recent recipient.

The Kentucky Wildcats have reached out to class of 2022 five-star recruit Keyonte George, according to Rivals’ Travis Graf.

George is from Lewisville, Texas, and it’ll be no surprise to hear that he holds an offer from the Texas Longhorns. New Kentucky assistant coach Jai Lucas had begun recruiting the 6-5 guard for the Longhorns before making the move to Lexington. Now, he’s picking up right where he left off.

George is ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings and as high as No. 8 overall in the Rivals Rankings. Despite being 6-5, Rivals lists him as a point guard, while 247 lists him as a shooting guard.

The junior already holds offer from the aforementioned Longhorns, Arizona Wildcats, Baylor Bears, Florida Gators, Kansas Jayhawks, LSU Tigers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders, among others.

George is an absolutely lethal scoring threat. He is smooth with the ball in his hands and extremely explosive. He’s a fun player to watch and, in my opinion, reminds me a lot of 2021 five-star guard Jaden Hardy, who Kentucky has been on for awhile.

Expect George to be a big-time priority for John Calipari in the coming months. He’s got all the makings of a really special player—one that the Cats will not want to miss out on.
