CBS experts believe Kentucky is the most underrated team in the SEC

More respect for the Cats.

The Kentucky Wildcats have been one of the more disrespected programs in recent seasons, despite making it to four-straight bowl games, including a 10-win season that ended with a bowl win over Penn State.

Going into each season, the experts in most cases pick the Cats near the bottom of the SEC East. And each year, Mark Stoops and this program take the field and prove them wrong.

However, two CBS Sports experts are giving the Cats the respect that they deserve and have earned.

On Thursday, the CBS’ college football writers released their SEC picks for the upcoming season. In the article, they picked the most overrated and underrated teams in the league.

Jerry Palm and Ben Kercheval believe that the Wildcats are the most underrated team in the SEC.

“Always thought of as the only SEC school that cares more about basketball than football, Kentucky’s football team tends to fly under the radar. However, Mark Stoops has taken the Wildcats to four straight bowl games, peaking in 2018 with a 10-3 record. Kentucky took a little step back last year but still finished 8-5, including a blowout of Louisville. It has to replace do-everything quarterback Lynn Bowden, but Terry Wilson is back from injury. If the offense can continue to produce, Kentucky will be a team to watch.”

As for the CBS writers’ prediction of the SEC standings, three of the seven writers picked Kentucky to finish 3rd in the east behind the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs. The other four predicted the Cats to finish 4th while ranking the Tennessee Volunteers 3rd.

Where do you think Kentucky will finish in the SEC East this season?
