BJ Boston is one of the top prospects in the country that will play college basketball this fall. He is making the leap from Sierra Canyon High School in California to rock Kentucky blue in Lexington. And while he has yet to take the court, John Calipari already has his sights on another Sierra Canyon star.
According to Chris Fisher of 247 Sports, five star guard Amari Bailey grew up a Kentucky fan. He started to cheer for them just to troll his father, but he grew into a passionate member of Big Blue Nation.
Top-5 junior guard Amari Bailey used to root for Kentucky just to troll his dad, who played at Louisville. Then, he actually became a UK fan. Now, the Wildcats are among the schools recruiting him the hardest. [VIP] https://t.co/mPIMf80vrX #BBN pic.twitter.com/gvq0mRA2f7

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Bailey is the No. 1 combo guard and the No. 4 overall player in the 2022 class. Playing at Sierra Canyon, Bailey got to compete every day in practice with some of the nation’s top prospects. Not unlike Kentucky, it is a destination high school where players go to take their game to the next level.
Kentucky has no commitments for the 2022 class at this point, but Bailey would be a wonderful centerpiece to build a class around. Will his trolling of his father go so far as to play at Kentucky to spite Louisville? Or will his respect for his father’s alma mater be a recruiting factor against Kentucky?
Either way, it looks like Coach Cal will be hot on his trail until the rising junior makes his final college decision.
