The Kentucky Wildcats have announced their 2020 football captains:

  • Senior QB Terry Wilson
  • Senior WR Josh Ali
  • Senior C Drake Jackson
  • Senior LT Landon Young
  • Senior DT Quinton Bohanna
  • Senior LB Jamar Watson
  • Senior P Max Duffy
  • Junior LB Joshua Paschal
  • Junior LB DeAndre Square
  • Junior DB Yusuf Corker

Leading the way is starting quarterback Terry Wilson, who returns from a season-ending knee injury suffered in Game 2 of last season. Though the NCAA is granting all current college football players an extra year of eligibility, Wilson has stated this will be his final collegiate season.

Wide receiver Josh Ali, who caught the game-winning touchdown in the Belk Bowl, will look to have his breakout season now that Wilson is finally healthy.

The Big Blue Wall was bound to have at least a few captains, as this offensive line has the potential to be one of the best in school history. Senior center and Woodford County product Drake Jackson will be the anchor at center, while senior left tackle and Lafayette alumni Landon Young will look to lock down the blind side.

As good as the offensive line will be, the UK defense has the potential to be just as good, highlighted by a front seven that includes four captains in defensive lineman Quinton Bohanna, linebacker Joshua Paschal, linebacker DeAndre Square, and pass-rushing specialist Jamar ‘Boogie’ Watson.

Representing the secondary will be starting safety Yusuf Corker, who enjoyed a breakout 2019 season with 74 tackles, four pass deflections, two fumble recoveries, one interception and one defensive touchdown.

Of course, arguably the best punter in UK history was going to be a special teams captain, which is the case with Max Duffy, who looks to repeat as the Ray Guy Award winner as the nation’s top punter.
