On Friday, the SEC finally revealed the two new opponents for each league member.
The Kentucky Wildcats will be making the daunting trip down to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide, and then they will host the Ole Miss Rebels and new head coach Lane Kiffin in Lexington.
These were the two of the rumored opponents for the Wildcats, and it turned out to be true. Kentucky may have, on paper, their best team ever, especially their best defense ever, and they get to put that to the test against The Tide.
Do you want Bama?
Let’s see what twitter had to say about the reveal:

For just the 2nd time in program history, @UKFootball will play both Alabama and Auburn in the state of Alabama in the same season (in 1935, UK played Alabama in Birmingham and Auburn in Montgomery).

Om @SECNetwork, former Florida star Chris Doering just said he’s excited about seeing the addition of Texas A&M-Florida game to SEC fall schedule and that “Kentucky-Alabama, I think that’s gonna be a sneaky good game, and I’m a little bit fired up about that.”

UK has 4 opponents ranked in the Top 11 of the Preseason Coaches' Poll. @UKFootball has played 4 opponents ranked, at the time of the game, in the Top 11 of the AP Poll in a single season just once (in 2007, UK played #1 LSU, at #8 Georgia, #9 Louisville, at #11 South Carolina)

I honestly like the Alabama matchup, especially in a weird season like 2020. You want to take the next step as a program? Big opportunity for Stoops' group. Show you belong.

and just like that a .500 season will be a great coaching job by mark stoops.
— Chris Hatfield (@ChrisDHatfield) August 7, 2020
The schedule is brutal and Kentucky could be pretty good and still go 5-5
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) August 7, 2020
BUT if you were ever going to play this gauntlet, THIS is the UK team I want to do it with
