As of early Thursday evening, the following list of players have officially opted out of the upcoming 2020 college football season. Four of these players represent three different teams from the Southeastern Conference: Auburn, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

  1. Chandler Wooten, LB, Auburn
  2. Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
  3. Gregory Rousseau, DL, Miami
  4. Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
  5. Jordan Rhodes, OL, South Carolina
  6. Mark Fox, OL, South Carolina
  7. Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
  8. Kassidy Woods, WR, Washington State
  9. Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
  10. Ra’Von Bonner, RB, Illinois
  11. Oren Milstein, K, Vanderbilt
  12. Kevin Doyle, QB, Arizona
  13. Jomaious Williams, DL, New Mexico State
  14. Jacub Panasiuk, DE, Michigan State

These players most likely won’t be the last and all have their own personal reasons (as well as respectfully have the right) to opt out of the upcoming season. This year, if it even happens, certainly won’t be easy and will present many headaches along the way. From a spike in cases, exercising precautionary measures, less time with teammates and coaches as well as many more limitations, it will be more difficult than any participating player could have ever imagined.

As of Thursday, no one has been rumored to be entertaining that option at Kentucky. However, everything seems to be on the table during this pandemic. Regardless if the Wildcats have anyone opt out or not, head coach Mark Stoops will embrace the “next man up” mentality and do what he does best: develop young talent.
