Kentucky head coach John Calipari will not let COVID-19 stand in the way of recruiting exceptionally talented athletes to come to Kentucky and prepare for the NBA.

Earlier this week, Kentucky offered a scholarship to five-star center Daimion Collins. The prospect from Atlanta stands 6’9, weights 210 pounds and ranked 22nd in the country (fifth of the centers) via 247 Sports composite rankings.

Interestingly enough, Collins had been on the Texas Longhorns’ radar with his main recruiter being none other than Jai Lucas.

With a comparison to Jerami Grant, the floor is incredibly high for Collins. Having soft hands, the ability to play athletically around the rim and willing to move his feet on defense as well as block shots around the rim are all traits Calipari absolutely loves to see.

With Lucas being able to “virtually” assist Kentucky in recruiting, you can go ahead and chalk down that Collins attention will quickly shift towards Kentucky.
