Landers Nolley II gets immediate eligibility waiver to play for Memphis this season

This could be a good sign for Olivier Sarr and his eligibility chances

Virginia Tech transfer Landers Nolley II, who transferred to Memphis in the offseason, has received an immediate eligibility to play for the Tigers this coming season, per Jeff Goodman of Stadium.

Nolley II was arguably the second biggest transfer of the off-season, just behind Kentucky’s own Olivier Sarr, who has still yet to hear any word, or so we think, regarding his eligibility.

However, this does bode well for Sarr, as Nolley II was not a grad-transfer and was one of the best players in the country last season who was just simply transferring.

Sarr was one of the best players in the country last season and was transferring due to a multitude of reasons, most notably the firing of then Wake Forest coach Danny Manning, who convinced Sarr to stay just before the NBA Draft deadline, only to be fired after said deadline had passed.

With Nolley being granted eligibility, you have to feel confident in Sarr’s chances of becoming eligible. I know John Calipari is.
