Kentucky contacts 2-sport star Tre Donaldson

Donaldson already holds an offer from the football Cats.

POPSCOUT

On Saturday, the Kentucky Wildcats picked up their first commitment for 2021, as four-star point guard Nolan Hickman announced he would be heading to Lexington.

As for the 2022 class, John Calipari and his staff are in a very good position with a number of recruits, and it appears that they are interested in another four-star guard.

Recruits Zone reported on Twitter that 2022 point guard Tre Donaldson has been contacted by several teams, including Florida, Florida State, Auburn and Kentucky.

Donaldson is also a four-star safety on the football side of things but he said that these contacts were for basketball.

The 6-2, 188-pound guard actually has an offer from Kentucky football to play safety. As a basketball recruit, Donaldson is ranked 101st overall in 2022 by Rivals and holds offers from Florida, Ole Miss and Nebraska. On the football side, he’s been offered by Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Miami, Nebraska and Texas A&M among others. He plays at Florida State University School in Florida.

It’s starting to feel like Coach Cal is finding these diamonds in the rough to come in after missing out of some of the elite recruits in recent seasons.

However, many experts believe that Hickman is way better than his ranking, and some think he ends up one of the top guards in the class.

As for Donaldson, we will have to see if Kentucky continues to pursue the two-sport star, and we will keep you updated on that front.
