Two months after Olivier Sarr committed to Kentucky, and long after Joey Gatewood committed, Liberty transfer cornerback Kei’Trel Clark committed to the Louisville Cardinals.
Well, Clark was just granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA, further giving Kentucky fans anxiety about why the NCAA is just twiddling their thumbs when it comes to Kentucky and their players.
This comes after LSU transfer Bryan Penn-Johnson was granted immediate eligibility just one month after his commitment to the Tigers. He too committed to his new school two months after Sarr picked Kentucky.
This is new this offseason, though, as tons of players that committed after Gatewood and Sarr were granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA. Johnny Juzang received his waiver a little over a month after he announced his transfer from Kentucky, in which John Calipari helped him get his eligibility to play at UCLA.
At this point, it’s just a waiting game for the NCAA to make a decision. It’s frustrating, but that’s the world we live in. And even though Sarr should be granted immediate eligibility, there is no guarantee when the NCAA is at the helm.
