Thursday Quickies: John Calipari’s Message Edition

Calipari recorded a PSA to UK students about staying safe on campus.

John Calipari has a message for University of Kentucky students about staying safe while on campus as multiple colleges and universities around the country have made the decision to suspend in-person classes with rising numbers of cases of COVID-19.

Calipari, sitting at his desk, says his message isn’t just about sports but keeping students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy.

“I want you to be safe,” Calipari said. “I’m not even saying this for sports. I’m saying this for you as a student... I don’t want to see one student get sick. I don’t want to see one professor get sick.”

Calipari encouraged students to follow the guidelines so the school doesn’t have to send students back home.

“Wash your hands, social distance, wear the mask,” Calipari said. “I want every one of you to have an unbelievable experience.”
