It looks like UK deputy athletics director DeWayne Peevy is poised to finally become an full-fledged AD.
According to DePaul reporter Lawrence Kreymer, the school has offered Peevy their AD job and is now working to finalize a deal.

The other reported finalist for the job is Northwestern deputy athletics director Mike Polisky.
If Peevy were to leave, UK would be losing a key member of their athletics department. He’s been the school’s deputy athletics director for the last six years and has been with the school since 2008.
Peevy was recently tabbed one of the SEC’s ‘Behind-The-Scenes-Power-Players” by AL.com. He was even a finalist for the UCF AD opening back in 2015.
Though it would be a big loss for UK, it’s time for Peevy to get his turn to run an athletics department. It could also help groom him as a potential replacement for current UK AD Mitch Barnhart whenever he decides to retire.
