The COVID-19 period has certainly put a pause on Kentucky recruiting. Specifically for basketball, it’s been more of a dead period.
On Thursday, however, fireworks came a few days before the Fourth of July.
Kentucky officially offered a scholarship to 2020 guard and five-star recruit Skyy Clark. Since the ban on in-person recruitment activities is in place through August, Kentucky made this offer virtually and with confidence.
Per 247 Sports, Clark is ranked 18th-overall and the top-ranked combo guard in his class.
Clark certainly fits the mold of a Calipari recruit. The ability to handle the basketball, score in traffic and willingness to be coached hard. Kentucky could very well have just landed a gem of a recruit for either the 2021 or 2022 class.
