Kennedy Chandler updates recruitment

Will we see Chandler in Lexington in 2021?

Kennedy Chandler remains one of the top players still uncommitted in the Class of 2021.

The guard from Wichita, Kansas is currently ranked 11th overall in the 2021 rankings and is an explosive guard that can get to the rim at will.

Now, the talented five-star 2021 recruit has given an update on his top-five schools; the Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, Memphis Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels and Tennessee Volunteers.

247 had a conversation with Chandler and talked about where he’s at with each of his top five. Here’s what he had to say about Kentucky:

“I got a good relationship with Coach Cal and coach [Tony] Barbee. They really think I’m a good player and would fit their program with the way they let their guards get up and down.”

247 currently has Chandler to Tennessee with all seven predictions in their crystal ball. However, Chandler made it clear that he “wants to see all of the schools before I make my decision.”

Here’s what he had to say about Tennessee:

”I got a good relationship with them and coach [Kim] English. Ever since they offered me they have been recruiting me really hard and they have some underrated players that go there and that’s a school that I’m interested in.”

When asked if he has a timeframe regarding when he would like to make a decision, he said, “No, I do not.”

With everything going on, there’s no reason for a player like Chandler to rush his decision. I’m sure we’ll see Calipari and company do everything they can to get the 2021 #1 point guard in Kentucky blue.
